Visual Field Testing
During a routine examination it may be necessary, through visual field analysis, to test your peripheral vision (side vision). This test will assess the potential presence of blind spots, which could indicate eye disease
There are some eye and brain disorders that can also field visual abnormalities. For example, glaucoma can cause damage to the optic nerve which in turn can create a specific visual field defect. Stroke can also cause damage to the brain which can also produce a certain type of visual field defect.
